financial incentives program application 2013-16 (Multiple) – 262 Main street south

Project Summary:

NDDS funding was previously approved under the Project Feasibility Study Program. A request for a façade grant has been received based on the presentation results of the February 28, 2014 meeting. The applicant is also requesting support for an interior renovation no-interest loan, support for business sign costs, as well as rebate of the building permit fees. (See Attachment #2 for Business Sign mock-up).

 

3.            newmarket downtown development subcommittee – April 25, 2014– Item

financial incentives program application 2014-09 – Project feasibility Study program, interior Renovation and improvement program, and planning and building fees rebate/credit program, 179 Main Street South

Project Summary:

The owners intend to make substantial interior improvements to this building to address current deficiencies. A request to offset professional fees associated with engineered drawings needed for building permit as well as building permit fees has also been made at this time. At a later date, a request to support facade improvements will also be submitted.

 

4.            newmarket downtown development subcommittee – April 25, 2014– Item

financial incentives program application 2014-08 – Project feasibility Study program, 201 Main Street South

Project Summary:

This is a proposed English-modelled fish and chips restaurant in the former Running Free space. The main floor has been leased to the applicants (who are experienced restaurateurs) by the building owner as of April 1. This funding request will be the first of several as the project proceeds through the development stage including interior, façade, business sign and planning and building fees rebate.

 

5.            newmarket downtown development subcommittee – April 25, 2014– Item

financial incentives program application 2013-13 – façade Improvement and resoration program and business sign program, 241 main street south

Project Summary:

RC Design was approved in 2013 for facade improvements; however, the owner was encouraged to explore alternative exterior treatments that better complement the historic nature of the street. He has now received quotes for brick work replacement of the upper building level which are more expensive than the original work proposed, and is seeking the Committee’s additional funding support. At the same time, the owner also wishes to install a new awning sign.

 

6.            newmarket downtown development subcommittee – April 25, 2014– Item

community grant program application  – Newmarket Jazz+ Festival  

Project Summary:

The Newmarket Jazz+ Festival is seeking support for its second year in Riverwalk Commons. Please note that an application from the Caribbean and South East Asian Showcase Festival is also pending, and that remaining budget under the Community Grant program is constrained. See Attachment #3.
