The meeting was called to order at 9:03 AM.

The Council Workshop recessed at 10:38 AM and reconvened at 10:54 AM.

Notice

Mayor Taylor advised that in accordance with the Town's Procedure By-law, no decisions are to be made but rather this meeting is an opportunity for Council to have informal discussion regarding various matters.

3.1

Clean Water Act Council Orientation Session

The Acting Chief Administrative Officer provided an introduction to the presentation.

Brigitte Roth of Acclaims Environmental Inc. and the Manager, Water/Wastewater provided a presentation to Council. The presentation included an overview of the statutory standard of care, Council's responsibilities, and background on the Town's water.

Members of Council queried the consultant and staff regarding the Town's water operations and key challenges.

  1. That the presentation regarding the Clean Water Act be received.

Health & Safety Council Orientation Session

The Director of Human Resources introduced the presentation and Samantha McFarlane, Public Services Health and Safety Association.

Samantha McFarlane of Public Services Health and Safety Association provided a presentation to Council. The presentation outlined an overview of workplace health and safety, Lost Time Injury rates and the Internal Responsibility System.

Members of Council queried the consultant regarding the Ontario Health and Safety Act and discussed the Town's current policies and procedures.

Harassment, Discrimination & Violence in the Workplace Council Orientation Session

The Director of Human Resources provided a presentation to Council. The presentation outlined an overview of workplace health and safety including harassment, discrimination and violence.

Members of Council queried staff regarding the Town's current policies and procedures.
