3.1

Overview of Council Workshop

The Deputy Clerk advised that a Committee review was undertaken and completed in early 2015.  As part of this review, Council adopted a practice of reviewing its Committees every term and this term of Council’s Committee review is scheduled to take place in the first quarter of 2019. She provided an overview of the Committees that would be presenting their accomplishments over the 2014-2018 term.

Accessibility Advisory Committee Presentation

Steve Foglia, Chair provided a presentation outlining an overview of the Committee's mandate and workplan areas, the Committee's accomplishments over the term, and highlighted some ongoing projects the Committee will be focusing on for the remainder of the term.

Audit Committee Presentation

Cristina Prattas, Chair provided a presentation outlining an overview of the Committee's mandate, accomplishments, and recommendations going forward.

Newmarket Environmental Advisory Committee Presentation

Carin Binder, Vice Chair provided a presentation regarding an overview of the Committee and its mandate, accomplishments to date, and future actions and recommendations for the next term.

  1. That the presentation by Carin Binder regarding the Newmarket Environmental Advisory Committee be received.

Heritage Newmarket Advisory Committee Presentation

Athol Hart, Chair provided a presentation outlining an overview of the Committee's workplan areas and accomplishments over the past year. He also highlighted some future recommendations and priorities for the next term.

  1. That the presentation by Athol Hart regarding the Heritage Newmarket Advisory Committee be received.

Elman W. Campbell Museum Board Presentation

Jackie Playter, Chair, provided a presentation outlining the mission and vision statements of the Board, an overview of accomplishments including a variety of successful events and partnerships, and outlined some proposed workplan goals for 2019.
