The meeting was called to order at 9:06 AM.

The Council Workshop recessed at 10:12 AM and reconvened at 10:27 AM.

Mayor Taylor advised that in accordance with the Town's Procedure By-law, no decisions are to be made but rather this meeting is an opportunity for Council to have informal discussion regarding various matters.

There were no declarations of pecuniary interest.

The Commissioner of Development and Infrastructure provided an introduction to the Low Impact Development presentations and the Director of Engineering Services.

The Director of Engineering Services provided a presentation to Council. The presentation included an overview of the risks around climate change, current Low Impact Development projects in Newmarket and future intentions.

Members of Council queried staff regarding the Town's past and future Low Impact Development projects.

 

The Director of Engineering Services provided an introduction to the presentation and Laura Zizzo of Zizzo Strategy.

Laura Zizzo of Zizzo Strategy provided a presentation to Council remotely through electronic meeting software. The presentation included an overview of climate change impacts, climate risks and opportunities, and national grants.

 

The Director of Engineering Services provided an introduction to the presentation and Jay Michels of Emmons & Olivier Resources (EOR).

Jay Michels of Emmons & Olivier Resources (EOR) provided a presentation to Council. The presentation included an overview of development impacts on the water cycle, stormwater management and Low Impact Development projects. 

Members of Council queried the presenter regarding Low Impact Development projects in Minnesota in relation to projects in Newmarket.

 

The Director of Engineering Services provided an introduction to the presentation and Mike Walters, CAO, Lake Simcoe Region Conservation Authority (LSRCA).

Mike Walters, CAO, Lake Simcoe Region Conservation Authority (LSRCA) provided a presentation to Council. The presentation included an overview of stormwater management within the Lake Simcoe watershed, partnerships and accomplishments

Members of Council queried the presenter regarding current and past projects.
