The
Council/Committee Coordinator welcomed the public to the Committee of the
Whole meeting.
The
Council/Committee Coordinator advised that the purpose of the meeting was to hear from anyone who has an
interest in an amendment to the Town’s Comprehensive Zoning By-law 2010-40
related to lands in the areas of the Yonge Street and Davis Drive corridors.
The purpose of proposal is to amend provisions related to regulation of the
required number of parking spaces for residential and non-residential uses in
order to encourage greater usage of transit in these areas, as well as to
assist in their redevelopment and intensification.
She
further advised that the Committee of the Whole would not be making a
decision regarding the proposed application, but would refer all written and
verbal comments to Planning Staff to consider in a report that will be brought
forward to a future Committee of the Whole or Council meeting.
The
Council/Committee Coordinator advised that if anyone present wished to be
notified of subsequent meetings, or if making a presentation, to complete a
form with their name and address and submit it to the Clerk’s staff.
The
Council/Committee Coordinator noted that in accordance with the Planning Act,
the Ontario Municipal Board may dismiss an appeal without holding a hearing,
if the appellant failed to make either oral submission at the Public Meeting
or provide written submissions to Council prior to adoption.
She
