2.            newmarket downtown development subcommittee – feb. 7, 2014 – Item

financial incentives program application 2014-03 – project feasibility Study program, 247  main Street South (rear)

Project Summary:

This proposed restaurant and complementary uses is expected to occupy approximately ½ of the lower level (approximately 3,500 ft2) of the Buckley building facing Riverwalk Commons. The owner is seeking assistance under the Project Feasibility Study program with an expectation that further assistance requests for other program components will be forthcoming.

 

3.             newmarket downtown development subcommittee – feb. 7, 2014 – Item

financial incentives program application 2014-04 – Business Sign program amd Planning and Building Fees Rebate/Credit program, 171 Main Street South (1 & 1A)

Project Summary:

Blooming Wellies flower shop has moved to Main Street and is seeking assistance with a new business sign and sign permit. See Attachment #2.

 

4.            newmarket downtown development subcommittee – feb. 7, 2014 – Item

financial incentives program application 2014-05 – Multiple program components, 210 main street south

Project Summary:

A new health-orientedraw, organic and veganrestaurant “Rawlicious” is opening in this location, becoming the seventh store in the GTA. Assistance with a number of program components are requested, however, a discussion of program eligibility is required prior to a funding recommendation. 

 

5.            newmarket downtown development subcommittee – feb. 7, 2014 – Item

financial incentives program application 2014-06 – business sign program and Interior renovation and Improvement program, 237 main street south (rear)

After receiving notice of lease termination by the owner of the Clocktower, the Econo Pizza and Wings owners decided to purchase 237 Main Street South, and relocate the restaurant to the existing café located at the rear of the building. Assistance with upgrades to the interior and with the business sign are requested. See Attachment # 3.

 

6.            newmarket downtown development subcommittee – feb. 7, 2014 – Item

community grant program application  – ranji singh foundation  

Project Summary:

The founder of the Caribbean and South East Asian Showcase at River Walk Commons is requesting support for this significant event. Support was provided in both 2012 and 2013.  See Attachment #5.

 

7.            newmarket downtown development subcommittee – feb. 7, 2014 – Item

community grant program application  – newmarket car club 

Project Summary:

The Newmarket Car Club is once again intending to hold a car show on Main Street, this year on June 14th. Funding was provided in both 2012 and 2013. See Attachment #6.
