Mr. Steve Thurlow and Ms. Suzanne Charbonneau; Dillon Consulting Limited regarding Central York Fire Services Final Draft Master Plan Update.

 

 

Mr. Steve Thurlow and Ms. Suzanne Charbonneau of Dillon Consulting Limited provided a PowerPoint presentation regarding the Draft Master Fire Plan.

Central York Fire Services Final Draft Master Plan Update.

 

 

 

Discussion ensued regarding the recommendations found within the report, including employee and equipment resource requirements, creation of new policies and standard operating guidelines, development of an additional fire hall, budgetary impacts and potential business plans.

a) THAT Central York Fire Services Final Draft Master Plan Update be received;

 

b) AND THAT the Chief Administrative Officers of the Town of Newmarket and Town of Aurora be given authority to investigate opportunities and land options for a possible future fifth Fire Station;

c) AND THAT staff schedule a Public Information Centre to obtain public feedback;

 

d) AND THAT staff report back to the Central York Fire Services Joint Council Committee with public comments and a business plan before presenting the Final Draft Master Plan Update to the Councils of Aurora and Newmarket.

a)

Station 4-2 Update

 

 

The Deputy Fire Chief advised that renovations on Station 4-2 are slightly ahead of schedule.  A dedication ceremony date has not yet been determined but it is anticipated that the event will occur in late September, 2014.

 

b)

CYFS-JCC Schedule

 

 

The Deputy Clerk advised that the next meeting of the Joint Council Committee would be held on September 2, 2014 at 9:30 a.m. in Newmarket.

The Chair advised that there was no requirement for a Closed Session.
