Fire Services Report 2016-05
dated November 14, 2016 regarding Medical Oversight of CYFS Medical
Program.
(As
per an e-mail dated December 15, 2016 from the Director of Human Resources
- Newmarket the following new recommendations from the Fire Chief and the
Chief Administrative Officer to be considered; the original report attached
contains the recommendations considered at the November 29, 2016 CYFS-JCC
meeting)
The
Fire Chief and the Chief Administrative Officer recommend proceeding immediately
with Recommendation a) listed below to ensure appropriate medical
oversight;
AND
THAT Recommendation i) listed below be brought back with additional
information regarding the symptom relief proposal, departmental readiness
as well as cost and service impact following implementation of the proposed
medical oversight model.
a)
THAT the Joint Council Committee (JCC) approve securing medical oversight
from a physician for the CYFS medical response program;
i)
AND THAT JCC authorize an increase in level of service that would allow
CYFS to follow a symptom relief drugs protocol.
