for Council to have informal discussion regarding various matters.

The Commissioner of
Community Services provided a brief overview of the proposed project.
The Director of Recreation and Culture addressed
Council with the ‘Recreation Playbook’ PowerPoint, including various aspects to
the development of the Plan such as process, expectations, timelines, budget
and cost recovery. He advised that the Plan would be a ‘living’ document that
was staff lead as opposed to consultant lead, and would be community driven.
He presented and explained to Council the
three approaches to developing the Plan being: a Compressed Approach, a
Preferred Approach and a Delayed Approach, each one with varying timelines. He
asked Council to indicate their preference.
A question and answer/comment period
followed the presentation.
There was consensus by Council to pursue
the Preferred Approach for development of the Plan.
Next steps include letting key
organizations know through a formal process.
